The two-day state meet opened today under sunny skies for Class B and Class D athletes. Class A and Class C running events were scheduled to begin today at 3:30 p.m. Tonight's final scheduled running event is the 200-meter preliminaries, which are set for 7:45.

Nebraska State Tennis: Marian, Skutt win titles
Omaha Marian freshman Brooke Urzendowski completed an undefeated season at No. 1 singles, and the Crusaders charged to victory in the Class A state tennis tournament . Omaha Skutt's Mary Lausten defeated Omaha Duchesne's Uma Ravipati in the No. 1 singles final to give Skutt the Class B state tennis championship.
